L'Oreal Skin Perfection Serum

I got this new creamy serum as a gift recently and find it very good. As the name suggests it claims to perfect the skin by minimising pores, evening skin tone and leaving skin feeling silky soft. I usually apply this after cleaning my face and before or with my moisturiser. It almost acts as a primer as you get the smooth surface on which to apply make-up. It is also a nice treat at night time. Definitely worth a try!!

La Roche-Posay Toleriane - Cleansing and Make-up Removal Fluid

I really like La Roche-Posay's packaging and their products always draw me, as someone who has sensitive skin. A few months ago I started using Avene's Extremely Gentle Cleanser and I was curious to see how La Roche-Posay Toleriane Cleansing and Make-up Removal Fluid would compare. I found it thicker in consistency and easier to apply to my face. Rinsing is optional; it all depends on whether you are removing make-up or simply cleansing a clean face. On the occasions I did use it for removing make-up I wiped it with a facecloth, cotton pads or water wipes.
Personally, I found this did not remove make-up quickly and easily but it is quite nice as a cleanser once your face is clean. It leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft. I would not buy this particular product again but I am definitely not turned off the brand.

Beauty Tips for Bridesmaids Part 2!

I curled my hair with my curling wand, then brushed out the curls, creating a very soft look. I lightly sprayed with hair spray.
To prime my face I used this brilliant primer; this was a life saver.

I opted for this foundation as I knew it would match my body very well, shade wise. At this stage the tan on my face had been washed off with make-up removal.
I sculpted my face with
and blended my new blush on my cheeks
I didn't need any mascara or eyeliner as I had false lashes on. This was my first time to use them and I don't think I would go for them again. I have quite long lashes already; I only got them as I was curious and they were very inexpensive. However I did apply eye shadow; I opted for these          tones from Naked Palette 1 to keep the look soft.
To frame my face, I used my new brow pencil which I think is really good.

With just a few products I was able to create a soft, elegant look which lasted the whole day.

Beauty Tips for Bridesmaids Part 1!

I was recently bridesmaid and thought I would share a few little things I found useful. I kept it as natural and simple as I could! I am going to break this into two parts: body and face. First up - the body!

I got a light spray tan as I was so white and I felt a tan would enhance the whole look. The dress was black and white; a tan looks great with all colours, especially these ones.
Beforehand I exfoliated with

                               and moisturised with
I used this exfoliator on my feet even though they were not on show at all (the dress was full length) but it felt good!!
Remember to avoid bobbles on the wrist, perfume, etc when you are maintaining your tan.
I wanted to add some colour so I went for this wintry ruby. Black would have worked well too. Since I bite (or bit :)) my finger nails, they were too short to paint so I applied false nails.

Part 2 coming soon - all about the face!!

The January Jolt!

It is that time of year again, January, and we are already one third through. I have yet to make resolutions as such but they will include changes to the body, mind and soul.
The physical change shall start tomorrow with a visit to the gym; I have not been there in quite a number of weeks. Some time this year I might manage to walk the few minutes to the complex but for now I shall transport myself in the comfort and shelter of the car - I don't want to overdo it :)
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a mind gym - or is that called Life?! There is a lesson in every day I guess. I find we live in a busy, demanding world and it is important to mind ourselves. As for my soul, I have no idea. I will do my best on the other two and I assume my soul will follow suit. Or does it work the other way around - who knows!!

In my eye!!

Here are my latest purchases for my two eyes :) I have green/blue eyes and lately I am loving greys and browns.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown: for filling in those brows to make a huge difference to the face. The brush is a nice touch

B. Smokey Kohl Eyeliner: I have blogged about this already but I love it so am mentioning it again. Grey, creamy and flattering.

Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in Sable Brown: a good alternative to black for a softer look

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Paint in Mercury Silver: I love grey/silver colours, a nice everyday look

Gosh Growth Mascara: A very nice mascara, (Gosh never disappoint) Worth trying!

Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara: have yet to try but it looks good!

A mini Clinique haul!

Happy New Year to all my viewers!! I thought I would share a few things I got in Clinique last month. I was delighted as bonus time had ended but the assistant fortunately let me have the last bag she had put away. Hooray!!

I was keen to try out their Redness Solutions daily relief cream. It is suitable for Rosacea or redness prone skin. I really like its thick and creamy consistency; it is also oil-free. I will be using this a lot more often to see if it really does relieve redness.

I was also curious to try out their chubby sticks for eyes; I chose the brown colour 'lots o' latte'. They are so easy to use, all you need to do is run it over your lid and blend with your finger. These are perfect if you don't want to spend a lot of time doing eye makeup and you don't need any brushes.

I got the following products as part of bonus time:

7 day scrub cream: a great exfoliator, leaving your skin soft and smooth

blush, in iced lotus: a very nice, rosy pink

high lengths mascara: I found this disappointing as it doesn't seem to lift the lashes or give length

chubby stick for lips, in plushest pink: this is a bright pink, more suitable for summer
