Party favours

Aren't these so cute? The whole thing cost just over 2euro. The bags are from Tesco, a few nice (wrapped) sweets and a nail varnish. A Ferrero Rocher would be nice too. I just think it's a nice touch and can be done so cheaply. Feel free to add your ideas :)

Self Measuring Tape - Useful for arms!!

I got this self measuring tape online as I saw a girl on Youtube who uses it. I thought it would be so handy as my most troublesome area is my upper arm area, which can be hard to measure accurately on your own. I was so looking forward to it arriving in the post. It is nothing fancy to look at but does exactly what it says on the tin. At least now I have something reliable to measure my progress. It is too embarrassing to say the circumference of my arms at the moment but I will let you know of any reduction in size. I am working hard to try and achieve this. It of course can be used for other areas of the body.

Those bingo wings - flap, flap!!

My arms are probably the body part I most want to tone. I heard or read years ago that they are actually the fastest part of the body to tone, I don't know if this is true but I hope so! :) Anyway here are 5 of my favourite exercises to do and you don't need any weights - Just a few minutes. I have been doing these over a week now (a few times a day) and already see and feel a difference. They are quite sore in the beginning but you get used to it in no time. When I really feel it the next day, I take a rest day.

All in a standing position with feet hip width apart.  I do as many as feels right and don't tie myself to a certain amount of reps.

Thumbs up, Thumbs down:   Arms outstretched either side, elbows slightly bent, fingers outstretched with thumbs pointing upward. Then twist whole arm, so thumbs are pointing downward. (Arms should be parallel to the floor)    Repeat.

Upwards V, downwards V: With your arms make an upwards V (as if asking God for toned arms) and then a downwards V (as if holding children's hands). Repeat. Keep arms straight and strong.

Switch: Place one hand at forehead (back of hand in contact), keeping the elbow up. Place other hand at belly button (back of hand in contact), palm of hand should be facing up. Then switch arms swiftly. Repeat.

Circles: Arms outstretched either side. Make small circles forward. Repeat. Make circles backward. Repeat.

Push Away: Start with elbows bent. Alternating arms, extend the arm to either side reaching as far as you can, as if pushing away something (or someone) coming towards you, in a swift movement. Arms should be level with shoulder.

To give you an idea of how quickly I do them, it takes just over a minute to do 10 reps of each. I am doing them daily and definitely see a difference.

The Body Shop's Facial Brush

This brush is so soft and gentle and yet loosens all the makeup. I use it with my cleanser. It feels so nice, especially if you make time to brush it all over the face and neck - so soothing and relaxing. It is all in the bristles!! You are then ready to just rinse and pat dry :)  It is also super cheap!
