My current workout routine!

I thought I would share my current workout routine. At the beginning of the month I met up with one of the instructors and we put together this routine which I have done six times so far - not very many but I am already feeling a huge difference!

Treadmill
Firstly I spend one minute at 6.5 k/h, then one minute at 8.5 k/h, alternating like this for 15 minutes.  At first the 6.5 k/h walk was uncomfortably brisk for me but now it is very do-able - way easier than 6 workouts ago. I thought I would not be able for the 8.5k/h jog but it too is fine and getting easier with every workout.

Bike
Then I go onto the spinning bike. I am supposed to do level 6/7 for 10 minutes and try to keep it over 100 rpm. The level and time, I have no problem with but the speed at which the instructor suggested is challenging to say the least. My short little legs are just not quick enough. Yesterday I did 7km which I am happy with as it is 7km more than I would have done if I had stayed at home! I am improving though, not quite hitting the 100rpm but I'm doing my best to near it.

Rower
Then onto the rower which I love. It was recommended I do 10 minutes on level 6/7 and to go at such a speed. Again the speed is the problem but I am getting a bit faster and stronger with each workout.

Weights
That is the end of the cardio and I move onto toning. I only do two exercises for the biceps and triceps. For the biceps I lift 2kg weights (very light but I don't want to strain myself :)). I do 3 sets of 15. For my triceps, I use a machine (sorry I don't know the name of the machine or exercise) and do 3 sets of 15.

After I do a few cool down exercises, that's it!! I drink about 750ml of water during the whole workout. I push myself and try work up a good sweat and get my heart pumping. I leave the gym feeling full of energy and life!!

Eye Spy

I thought I would show you the eye creams I have at the moment. I cannot tell much difference between them, bar the price. I alternate between all of them and use whichever one is closest to me at the time. I do not know if they 'work' but I do not have many lines or wrinkles so maybe they do?! I still think the best thing for your eyes is sleep ...  zzzz
Clinique's All about eyes (silver lid)
The Body Shop's Nutriganics (pump)
Lacura's Q10 (from Aldi, the cheapest)
Benefit's It's Potent
L'Occitane's Precious Eye Balm

Feeling bloated?

I only recently 'get' the whole bloated/water retention thing (I think!). Basically (correct me if I'm wrong), the less water you drink, the more your body will want to hold onto whatever water it gets, thus retaining water and leading to that bloated feeling. However, if you are regularly giving your body water, your body will have no need to hold onto as much as it knows it is getting some on a regular basis. As a poor water drinker I decided to put this to the test and even within 24 hours my stomach had gotten flatter and within 3 days it was flatter than it had been in months!! You just can't beat drinking it. I especially love it during exercise and first thing in the morning.

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Strengthening Cream

I have used this product each time I have washed my hair since purchasing. I wait until my hair is about half dry, then I rub it into the ends. There is no need to rinse out. For only a few euro, I think it is great value as you can definitely tell the difference. It is hard not to use it now that I have started!! Here's to silky, strong hair! :)

New Years Nails

My nails have been transformed in the last month or so. It was in the last few days of 2013 when I decided the biting had to stop and it just wasn't ladylike to have nails in such condition. So I stopped biting them and they grew!! But they were quite weak and broke easily so I got this amazing varnish and they are so strong now. They also have a lovely shine. I can't wait to start painting them once they are all at a nice length. I highly recommend this for all you nail biters out there!

Marian Keyes and A.S.A. Harrison

These are the two books on my locker at the moment. I have started The Brightest Star in the Sky already and I'm enjoying it. I haven't read anything by Marian Keyes in quite a while so it's nice to read her work again. There's something very inviting about going to bed early and delving into her books.
Then I picked The Silent Wife up as I love darker books too. I haven't started this yet but looking forward to! I often read two books at a time so there is one to suit my mood :)

She has some neck!

I got these two pieces recently and was immediately drawn to both.

I love the 'D' in the heart and I also love that its gold (I'm not keen on silver). Quite cute and delicate.

I love the separation in the centre of this piece and the colours. It will liven up an array of outfits. I actually think it's quite an Autumnal piece.

L'Occitane Immortelle Collection

I treated myself to some new creams last weekend, deciding to indulge in L'Occitane. Their store in Liffey Valley is so inviting and I could have bought many other things but these should keep me going for now! There was a special offer on their Immortelle collection which targets anti-aging. I got the day cream, night cream, cleansing foam, serum and lots of samples thrown in. It ended up being very good value for money. I have been using these for a few days now and they feel amazing!
